Catching Up

Now that we're settled in Atlanta and have the internet again, I finally have time to catch up on some of the things we've been up to during our last month in Athens.
For instance . . .

We helped plan a great surprise party for our good friend Josh, who just graduated from law school.

David manned the window to get the surprise just right.

We frightened Josh.

and had lots of fun!

Next we took a weekend trip to the mountains to my in-law's with my little brother Dawson.
We . . .

went for an early morning canoe on the Toccoa River.

After canoeing we drove to Copper Hill, Tennessee and stood in two places at once!

Next, we toured Misty Mountain Railroad. It's a huge model train city with scale models of North Georgia and Atlanta. These pictures do not do the place justice; it's pretty amazing. The man who built it originally started it for his grandchildren and now he lets people tour it and donates the entry fee to charity.

Lastly, we hiked to the top of Brasstown Bald.

Thanks to my mother-in-law for the fun weekend!

We spent our final night in Athens with some great friends and great food, thanks in large part to Aaron and Stephanie!

Our last month in Athens was one of the best! We will miss the town and especially our friends, but we're way excited about living in Atlanta. Plus, we're only an hour away if we want to visit!
